USE OF ARBITRATION IN FAMILY CASES EXTENDED TO COVER DISPUTES ABOUT CHILDREN

July 2016         No: 3

Since its launch in 2012, family law arbitration has been available to deal with financial disputes when couples separate. This provides an alternative to Court proceedings.

The Institute of Family Law Arbitrators has now launched a children scheme. The new scheme covers such issues as where children should live, how much time they should spend with each parent, and relocation within England and Wales.

The scheme is supported by Resolution, a specialist organisation of family lawyers (click here for Resolution website). For more information about the scheme click here.
