Ruth graduated from Sheffield Hallam university, before completing her post-graduate diploma in legal Practice at the College of Law, Chester.

Ruth was admitted as a solicitor in January 2000 and has been an accredited member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Tribunal panel since 2002.

Ruth has extensive experience in advising and representing community patients and those detained under civil and forensic sections in hospital, at appeal hearings. She is a member of the Mental Health Lawyers Association and covers cases predominantly in the North West and Cumbria.
